I've read all of the Dungeon Crawler Carl books published till now.
They are, of course, LitRPG. I think they avoid many of the pitfalls of LitRGP reasonably well:
The continual progress feels earned; you learn things about the world such that new battlegrounds and struggles open up, rather than merely numbers going up.
They manage to be reasonably funny all the way through.
They have good self-conscious cheese.
I think I'd recommend them over any other LitRPG I've read so far. Still -- your eyes will glaze over during some battles, probably.
