If you asked me for the best work depicting LLMs and their impact, I might not answer with AI 2027, or Accelerando, or a Gwern short story; I might answer with The War Against the Newts, by Karel Čapek.
This is pretty remarkable, because it was published in 1936, and isn't about AI at all but intelligent amphibians.
